The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission hopes to learn from the experiences of Tokyo Electric Power Co. following a devastating earthquake and tsunami that left TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in dangerous disarray.

NRC also plans to consider risk preparedness, radioactivity risks, reactor designs, and other opportunities to improve U.S. nuclear safety and power plant operations. A schedule for public briefings is posted online.

Any nuclear reactors in your region? Find them online using NRC's site locator.
