Electricity Grid, Transmission, and Distribution

An electric power grid is a network of interconnecting transmission lines that allow utilities to transmit and distribute power from generating stations and other energy sources to customers. In the U.S. and the Americas, the electrical grid typically delivers alternating current (AC) at 60 Hertz (Hz) between 100 to 120 volts. In Europe, the electrical grid typically delivers AC at 50 Hz at 220 to 240 volts.
